Got a nice adrenalin rush at the bottom, where it hits a 90 degree intersection. Pavement in this area is concrete, and the intersections can be pretty choppy, so a 90% turn isn’t childs play for a downhill novice. Anyway, I found the line and blasted through catching a little sideways drift on the Retro Freerides. Probably not going all that fast — I’d say about 20 or 25 tops. But still, was fun. Wore helmet and slider gloves.

Can’t wait to get this board on some nice smooth asphalt and a longer hill.

A small harvest of red leaf lettuce, curly lettuce, and spinach. Enough for a couple of dinners. We have lots more growing.

Got the two new beds all built, filled with soil, and ready for planting. the other ones are still growing winter crops – lettuce, spinach, etc.

Should have a good harvest this year. Gonna also be trying watermelons, potatoes, corn, and peas elsewhere in the yard.

Greens from our square foot garden. Spinach and red leaf lettuce. Good stuff, and plenty more out there.

Broccoli seedlings

In additions to these broccoli plants, I’ve also started some spinach, bell peppers, brussel sprouts, ocra, and chard. By the time these are ready to transplant, the weather should be pretty nice.

Gardening is punk. There’s nothing quite as DIY as growing your own food.

Just another picture from Whiterock Lake from my bike ride the other day. Typical Fall day in Dallas. Windy, cool, but kind of nice. The bike trail looks a bit beat up right here, but it isn’t too bad.

Over the weekend I heard plans to connect this trail to some others that would extend it way down south of Dallas, which would be great. I’ll have to look into this today and see what I can find out.

Last night I removed all the remaing parts from my Corbier except the headset, stem, and bottom bracket. I cleaned the frame really good — the paint is in such good shape I don’t think I’m going to repaint it. Not crazy about the color, but the metal is well protected.

The cranks were practically time-welded on. It was quite difficult to remove them, but a good learning experience, as I had never used a crank tool before.

My goal is to use this to learn some basic bike mechanic skills – cranks, bottom bracket, headset adjustment, etc. I’ll have to get a good single speed wheelset for it. When it is riding and looking cool I will try to sell it for my cost. If it doesn’t sell, I can always just ride it or move the nice wheels to a nicer frame.
